Missouri Becomes Next State To Allow Concealed Carry Without A Permit

guns_firearms_smithwesson_703328_hIt’s time to update those concealed /open carry charts again. In September, 2016, Missouri became the next state to allow people to carry concealed guns wherever they are currently allowed to open carry within the state.  The new law will take effect on January 1, 2017.  This is the 10th state to become unrestricted and not require a permit.

Another change is Missouri will also have a “stand-your-ground” right, meaning there is no duty to retreat from a threat where you are lawfully present. This is the first state to pass a “stand-your-ground” law in many years.

If you have your Word version of my concealed/open carry law chart for the United States, be sure to update it with this change, making Missouri an unrestricted state. If you don’t have it but would like one, please email me and I will forward it to you.
