Prejudicial Impact of Physician Liens on Personal Injury Litigation

In a personal injury case, the plaintiff’s treating physician is most often the person who provides causation opinion testimony for the plaintiff.  This was often riddled with prejudicial impact due to prior relationships but now the trend is even worse.  More and more, plaintiffs are seeking treatment from physicians who will impose a lien on their personal injury case in exchange for medical treatment and that is the physician offering causation opinions for the plaintiff.
