A decision that is placing a lot of stress on in-house counsel at retail, restaurant and hospitality companies across the country is whether to post No-Gun signs on their business doors. Depending on which type of group you talk to about the issue, you will hear arguments for and against the use of No-Guns signs. However, until the civil courts start analyzing this issue no one knows for sure which will be considered the best approach from a civil liability defense perspective. My partner and I recently published an article on this very issue. We provide a point/counter-point analysis in an attempt to give companies as much information as we currently have on the subject.
