Last week, Kansas became the 5th state to allow permitless concealed carry.
Kansas was previously unrestricted and did not require permits for open carry but now, as of April 2, 2015 when the governor signed Senate Bill 45, concealed carry is unrestricted and does not require a permit.
As many of you know, I often give presentations regarding concealed carry policy and liability issues. At those presentations, I provide attendees with a chart that outlines the concealed and open carry laws for each state. If you have such a chart, please be sure to update it with this change in the law. If you don’t have the chart, or need a copy of it in a Word format so it can be updated, please email me.
Lastly, I will be posting again on this topic soon because it looks like the law will be changing in Texas as well. Stay tuned!
